BUMDO Joyfully Celebrates Abraham Day 2025

On the recent occasion of Abraham Day, the Bility United Muslim Disables Organization (BUMDO) held a heartwarming celebration filled with unity, prayer, and joy. The event brought together disabled Muslims, widows, orphans, youth, and community supporters in a beautiful show of faith and togetherness.

Held at the BUMDO community centre, the day began with Qur’an recitations and an inspiring talk about the life and sacrifice of Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him). Attendees reflected on his obedience, strength, and complete trust in Allah — values that continue to guide BUMDO’s work.

“We came together not just to celebrate a holiday, but to remember what it means to submit to Allah’s will and support one another,” said one of the organisers.

Throughout the day, there were nasheed performances, community meals, and the distribution of food and gifts to disabled members, widows, and children. Smiles and laughter filled the atmosphere as people embraced the spirit of giving and sacrifice.

A highlight of the event was the symbolic sharing of meat, honouring the tradition of Eid al-Adha and ensuring that even the most vulnerable in the community could take part in the celebration.

Many who attended expressed deep gratitude for the event, noting that it brought a sense of hope, dignity, and belonging.

BUMDO’s team thanked all those who contributed, especially the donors who helped make the day possible. They also called on the public to continue supporting their ongoing projects — including housing, Quran education, and vocational training for people with disabilities.

“This Abraham Day reminded us that even with little, we can still share, still care, and still lift one another,” said a young BUMDO volunteer.
